Leadership 2026 – Human Judgement at Machine Speed

Abstract — Leadership 2026: Human Judgment at Machine Speed proposes treating leadership as an explicit, measurable operating system that converts uncertainty into coordinated action by combining human judgment with AI-enabled scale, while preserving safety, ethics, and dignity. The article introduces a fractal model that repeats from board to frontline through six leadership moves—Direction, Decisions, Delivery system, Development, Dignity, and Durability—so the same pattern scales as scope changes. It operationalises this approach through a Leadership Operating System (LOS) with defined decision rights, execution flow, AI delegation boundaries, and learning loops, linked to both business model (value creation/capture) and operating model (scope/scale/learning). To measure leadership as an asset, it defines Return on Leadership (RoL) as outcomes plus system health, capability growth, and trust protection, minus leadership overhead and drag, supported by dashboards and anti-gaming principles.
